At FoundPoemsMKE, we rediscover the lost poetry of old Milwaukee’s far past. We share this poetry to shine a spotlight on the trials, tribulations, thoughts, concerns and experience that the citizenry of Milwaukee faced in thos decades. We categorized the poems in ten categories based on the thing relevant to the daily lives of Milwaukeeans of the their time. The categories are Acrostic, Water and Boat, Call and Responsorial, Elegiac, Milwaukeean, Humorous, Newspaper, Organizational, Political, and Sportive. Each of these categories are representative of the overarching themes within the poetry contained in them.
